At 6pm, join Pā Collective members Star Gossage, Carol Brown, Dame Gillian Whitehead and others for a discussion about PAH – a multi-dimensional, site specific performance featured in the Auckland Arts Festival, then meander through the Homestead with Pā Collective dancers as they re-create excerpts of the PAH choreography (8-10pm).

Uncover feathered inhabitants together in Jenna Gavin and Matthew Martin’s interactive artwork, opening on White Night with a special appearance from dance group Bodyphonics. Birds of a Shadow is a playful installation inviting family, friends and strangers to work together to discover beautifully crafted bird images on the screen.

Enter the phonetic matrix of New Zealand’s birdlife under the dense typographic canopy of Gerbrand Van Melle’s audience-responsive PUA. Demonstrating the relation between humans and birds, names appear and disappear, responding to the audience presence.

The Depot Artspace

Change gear and chat with artists Nicholas Boyd, Paris Kirby, Jermaine Reihana, Sash and Yonel Watene, the artists behind the wheel at The Driving Force. Discussing their creative practice in painting, installation, sculpture and assemblage, the artists will be joined by DJs Lia Kent and Hannah Sarney for a night of music and inspired conversation.

Reception Party is a durational and endurance performance where Mark Harvey welcomes visitors at the entrance of the New Zealand pavilion and invites them to argue with him about climate change, related politics and their effects on the oceans and sea level rise. When people tire of the debate they are invited to push him over.

Devonport Community House

Make Like a Tree in association with Devonport Community House presents: The Great Junk Mail Challenge! Create a work of art and/or design (basically anything!) using junk mail and a limited range of tools ie sellotape, stapler, hole punch and string. You have just one hour to create your masterpiece! The winner, will be selected by our eco-friendly judges on the night. Individuals or teams of up to 4 people are invited to participate in the challenge.  For all ages.

As part of the Auckland Art Festival's White Night, jeweller Soo Jeong Lee will be hosting a collaborative project give me a hand where participants will be invited to come along and make an object using Soo Jeong's wax moulding technique. The project is being run to promote Handshake2*,* a jewellery mentoring programme established by Wellington jeweller Peter Deckers, of which Soo Jeong is a mentee. 

Sir Pauls Reeves Building PQNZ15 Exhibition

Still Sailing explores how humans might take action in times of environmental uncertainty that include extreme heat, storm warnings and states of emergency. A participatory mobile scenography/survival tour that requires the audience, as participants, to collectively navigate through the city, engaging with weather, site, sail and survival shelter.
